Celeste Lyn Paul is a senior computer scientist in the Computer and Analytic Sciences group at the US Department of Defense. Her work focuses on the use of visualization in network analysis and defense. Before joining the DOD, Paul spent ten years in industry working with clients such as Boeing, the Environmental Protection Agency, Inter-American Development Bank, K12, and the National Cancer Institute. She was also involved in the open-source software community, including mentoring for OpenUsability and serving on the board of directors for KDE. She has published in many areas including usability and interaction design, interruption and task management, and open-source communities. Paul received her BA in Multimedia from Duquesne University, MS in Interaction Design from the University of Baltimore, and PhD in Human-Centered Computing from the University of Maryland Baltimore County.
