Srinivasan (nickname Srini) came to the US from India in 1975 for his doctoral work. After completing his PhD at the University of Pittsburgh, he worked at Carlow College (Pittsburgh, PA); University of Akron (Akron, OH); and Austin Peay State University (Clarksville, TN) before settling at the University of Louisville (Louisville, KY) where he spent 23 years. He started the Information Security program there, which became one of the National Centers of Academic Excellence. He moved to Texas A&M International University (Laredo, TX) as Chairman in 2010. He is now at Texas Southern University (Houston, TX) as the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Research, as well as a distinguished professor in the Jesse H. Jones School of Business. His two books on cloud computing, Security, Trust and Regulatory Aspects of Cloud Computing in Business Environments (IGI Global) and Cloud Computing Basics (Springer), will be published in 2014. He became a naturalized US citizen several years ago. Srini’s research interests are in the area of information security. He has published several papers both in mathematics and computer science, and has offered seminars at several conferences over the years. He spent his sabbatical years at Siemens (Munich, Germany) (1994); UPS Air Group (Louisville, KY) (2000-2001); and GE Appliance Park (Louisville, KY) (2007-2008). In addition, he has done consulting work for IBM, the US Army, and several other smaller companies over the years. Srini enjoys travel, books, and volunteer activities.
