I, Steve : Steve Jobs in his own words
Beahm G., Agate, Chicago, IL, 2011. 160 pp. Type: Book (978-1-932841-66-4)
Date Reviewed: Apr 26 2012

Approximately 150 brief quotations from Steve Jobs--ranging from “Anxiety before the iPad debut” to “Zen”--are contained in this three-decade collection.

Additionally, there is a chronological list of his milestones and his 2011 resignation letter as CEO of Apple. This book is easily carried in one’s coat pocket and will provide a quick read while waiting for a meeting or on an airplane. What is interesting about the quotations is the rolling-with-the-punches, forward-thinking quality they exhibit. Certainly Jobs had business ups and downs and we can all learn from his words.

While all of this material has been previously published, it is fun and enlightening to see what Jobs had to say about “simplicity,” for example, or “employee potential.” This is not a biography, but simply a book of collected quotations from a truly great mind and visionary. Readers will enjoy the profound, yet easily digestible, insights from this great little book.
