Security model and framework for information aggregation in sensor networks
Manulis M., Schwenk J. ACM Transactions on Sensor Networks5(2):1-28,2009.Type:Article
Date Reviewed: 06/26/09

Manulis and Schwenk introduce a formal communication and security model for in-network aggregation in wireless sensor networks (WSNs). A complete proof of the security of the model is rigorously done. A scenario where the aggregation is done by one of the nodes of the network is emphasized.

The authors present a novel modular framework for in-network aggregation that is secure in the cryptographic sense: symmetric cryptographic primitives are used in the context that current WSNs are supporting them. The performance of the framework is carefully analyzed.

Security specialists will find this paper very interesting, since there are few scientific results in the secure information aggregation area.
