The paper gives examples of using inspections in the development process (see, i.e., [1]). The results of the inspections are used for improvements of methods and tools. In addition, they should be used for improving the total process structure, including the inspections. The traditional life-cycle is used as the basis. Changes in the development process caused by technological advances might result in a need for reevaluation of the applicability of inspections/reviews. In summary, this is worthwhile reading for those who want to or have to do the present development cycle better.
