Modern programming using REXX
O’Hara R., Gomberg D., Prentice-Hall, Inc., Upper Saddle River, NJ, 1985. Type: Book (9789780135973110)
Date Reviewed: Dec 1 1985

This book is a primer for programming in the REXX language, an interpretive language based on PL/I but updated for interactive programming. It is of interest primarily to introductory programming students (or other programming novices) who are using REXX as their first language. As an introductory book, it does a good job. Whether the REXX language itself is worthwhile is beyond the scope of this review. The book does not present itself as an exposition of the full REXX language or as a rationale for it.
